CAEP is organizing a series of three Peer Learning events on NQF:

• 1^st meeting and Kick-off in Istanbul, February 20-21, 2017
• 2^nd Meeting in Istanbul April 24-25, 2017
• 3^rd Meeting Riga September 18-19, 2017

Objective

• to facilitate a policy dialogue and knowledge exchange in the field of education and to support regional collaboration

Results

• Mutual learning and experience exchange on current developments among policy makers and experts of the Central Asia and EU countries on NQF facilitated;
• Learning about policy implementation approaches, challenges and solutions
• Good practices shared and know-how on concrete implementation steps of NQFs deepened
• Recommendations drafted to support the process of implementation of qualification frameworks in the respective countries

The first meeting will examine the following topics: 1. Integration of NQFs into the existing systems of qualifications:

• 1.1 Common understanding of concepts and terminology
• 1.2 The “building blocks” of a NQF and possible sequences of steps
• 1.3 How to set up Sectoral Qualifications Bodies
• 1.4 Building coherence between General Education, HE and VET

The 2 and 3 meeting will focus on Recognition and certification of Learning Outcomes from any form of learning (including work-based learning, dual learning, part-time, e-learning, etc.) and Involving the world of work in defining, maintaining and assessing qualifications. The key theme for the 4^th meeting will be Alignment and self-certification of national qualifications to international Qualification Frameworks. Education experts from Latvia and Poland will share their experiences and discuss practice-oriented questions centring around NQF implementation issues, moderated by CAEP experts.
