
At the Second Ministerial Meeting of Ministers for Education in Astana in June 2017, the role of education in preventing and countering violent extremism among youth was identified as a priority for EU cooperation in the field of education and training in Central Asia in line with the global commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, in particular to “ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning” (SDG 4). CAEP is therefore organising a Regional Seminar with a focus on the link between quality education and training and issues of social inclusion, economic integration and resilience among young people, as part of the policy dialogue on and support to reforms in HE and VET across Central Asia.
We expect up to 50 participants from across Central Asia, representing senior technical officials in relevant ministries and agencies, representatives from the EU, EEAS, UNESCO and OSCE as well as other international stakeholders who can profit from regional dialogue.
